On Tuesday 5th February, Year 7 students handed over the many bags of clothing collected for the recycling event which was a key part the recent ‘Sustainability Day’.  ‘Bag2School’, a company that specialises in good quality second hand clothing, came to collect the blue bags which will then be sent to organisations from poorer countries around the world, who will re-use the best quality clothes and recycle the rest.

As well as being a great way to recycle things we no longer need, the scheme will also help raise funds for further  Eco-school initiatives as the bags are weighed on collection and the Academy will be paid £200 per tonne (20p per kilo).

We are hoping to arrange collections twice yearly, so remember to save us your old clothes rather than throw them out.  The more you collect, the more funds we can generate for the Eco-council.
