Three Macmillan Eco-Council representatives were fortunate to attend the 'Renew Tees Valley Energy and Environment Fair', which took place on the 31st January and 1st February.



Three Macmillan Eco-Council representatives were fortunate to attend the 'Renew Tees Valley Energy and Environment Fair', which took place on the 31st January and 1st February.   With the theme of Carbon Down; Profits Up, the fair celebrated the success of renewable energy and recycling/waste management in the Tees Valley.  Keynote speakers included Philip Douglas, head of DEFRA’s Carbon Reduction Unit and Fiona Hall, MEP.

Jack Ravenscroft (Y9), Emily Allen (Y7) and Philip Sidwell (Y11) were the only student delegates and were delighted to be asked by the host of the event, local TV presenter, Wendy Gibson, to plant the trees to offset the carbon footprint created by the Fair.
