Some of the Post-16 students who organised our annual appeal for toys and non-perishable food to be distributed to the needy by the Salvation Army spent Friday helping to sort the many goods received at the Salvation Army Citadel in Stockton. They also helped with the packing of parcels and became increasingly aware, as the day progressed, of just how much help the Salvation Army provides each year to families and individuals. Most of our students previously had no real idea of how much poverty still exists in this area today but they certainly realise now. While everyone enjoyed working with the Salvation Army for the day, they came away with much wiser heads on their young shoulders.
