Victory in Europe Day, generally known as VE Day, is a day celebrating the formal acceptance by the Allies of World War II of Nazi Germany's unconditional surrender of its armed forces on Tuesday, 8 May 1945, marking the end of World War II in Europe.

Global Perspectives students have been learning about VE Day by becoming 'photo detectives' and investigating the background to a variety of photographs taken in 1945.

Other students have reported the events leading up to VE Day in their own newspaper stories and many more students have harnessed their creative skills to produce bunting and menus for their own celebrations.
