Staff and students spent their February half term enjoying the ski slopes and beautiful panoramic views of Dachstein West in Austria.

Macmillan Academy's annual ski visit was once again a fantastic success. Forty-three students and six members of staff spent their February half term enjoying the ski slopes and beautiful panoramic views of Dachstein West in Austria. The weather was very kind to us and students enjoyed a mostly sunny week enabling them to fully appreciate the beauty of their environment.

Students had six full days of ski tuition from local instructors who developed their skills and confidence across a range of challenging ski runs, with all students experiencing the exhilaration of skiing down mountainous terrain. Students also learned some German songs from their enthusiastic ski instructors which they proudly demonstrated to their peers and staff!

A packed evening entertainment programme included a ski show, curling, bowling, visit to a local swimming pool and not forgetting our annual team quiz. Students embraced every opportunity they were given, both on and off the slopes, with enthusiasm and determination to succeed.

Macmillan Academy are very proud of our students and the compliments they received from numerous external service providers. To quote just one; 'These students are a credit to themselves, their school and their town!'
