As part of an on going project in their Global Perspective lessons, Year 8 students have been learning about poverty around the world. As a result, 8SCR ran a campaign to raise money to 'twin a toilet' in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Africa.

The process involved raising money to help fund a project in a poor community that will enable families to build a basic toilet, have access to clean water and learn about hygiene - a vital combination that saves lives.

So much money was raised that the academy has been able to twin two separate toilets!

The plaques detailing this project can be found outside the staff toilets in the main reception building.
