The Macmillan Academy Year 8 football team produced a flawless performance in the MinuteMaidCounty Cup first round. Playing against a strong EstonPark side, Macmillan played beautiful football and ran out 4-0 victors.

From the first whistle Crockett and Russell forged an impenetrable wall in centre defence showing dominance in the air and on the ground. Their commanding performances buoyed the team who thrived on the good possession won in defence. McManus in particular shone on the right wing, tormenting his opponents with strong runs and formidable crossing. Lowe and Lane provided the cutting edge up front, with Lowe trying to claim the match ball with a phenomenal hat-trick. Overall an outstanding performance was capped off when G.Stubley who battled all match headed Eston Park's best chance from the goal line.

The year 8 football team have now set a high benchmark on which future performances can be judged. A win away in the league vs. St Davids is their next challenge.
