Musical Delights

This year's Macmillan Academy Christmas Concert featured our Choir, String Ensemble, Guitar Ensemble, solo vocalist and Concert Band and also included a nativity play. Towards the end of the evening, the audience joined in the singing of carols.

A colourful window on the past

Several years ago, before the Middlesbrough synagogue was closed, our Head of Religious Studies, Miss Eddon, took a group of Macmillan students for a tour of the building. Their guide was David Simon whose family had worshipped there for almost a century.

Where did you get that hat?

The final Year 8 assembly of the Spring Term took the form of a Hat Show when fifty students displayed their innovative Easter bonnets which were made from recycled materials for an Art and Design project.

Macmillan Academy student Sarah Gething started playing Badminton at Guisborough Westgate Club in 1999 when she was 11 years old and now, aged 16, as a member of the Yorkshire County Team, has her sights firmly fixed on representing Great Britain at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

Your Blazers Have Arrived!

On the last day of the summer term in July 2006, all students donated their old CTC blazers prior to returning in the new Macmillan Academy blazer in September. The old blazers were collected by one of our nominated charities, Coco for eventual shipment to needy children in Uganda.
